Directly supporting the Human Resources and Training Manager, our

Learning & Development (L&D) Coordinator

will join forces in delivering the day-to-day training and development needs to the business. With a significant focus on supporting our product manufacturing teams, your role will have strategic and hands-on functions where you will lead the design, implementation, and management of our overall training portfolio. This role is instrumental in aligning our learning initiatives with our core focus of 'Healthier Together - Learn, Grow, and Succeed as a Team', helping to build a high-performing and ever developing team.

This position requires a combination of technical expertise, strong interpersonal skills, and leadership qualities. You will be required to possess strong communication, organisational, instructional, and project management skills, adept at assessing training needs, designing and implementing programs, and evaluating the effectiveness of L&D activities. Ultimately, your passion will inspire and foster a proactive continuous improvement culture.

Normal Working Hours will be Mondays-to-Fridays (0830-1700hrs); however, you may also be required to undertake flexible working arrangements to work evenings, weekends, or overtime to meet L&D key performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities



Training Program Management:



Coordinate and schedule training events, including both internal and external training sessions, webinars, and workshops. Support in the design and development of training materials, including inhouse and e-learning modules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other resources.

Developing and Delivering Training:



Create lesson plans, presentations, and practical exercises for various training topics such as food safety (including HACCP), hygiene, equipment operation, specific manufacturing processes, health and safety, leadership and management. Develop and update training manuals, presentations, and other resources to ensure they are current, accurate, and relevant. Evaluate trainees through practical assessments, written tests, and observations to ensure they meet required standards.

Learning Management Systems & Team Records:



Maintain accurate records of training sessions, assessments, and employee progress, including supervision meetings, attendance records, and other relevant documentation. Ensure data accuracy and security in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. Analyse training data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and inform future training initiatives.

Collaborating with other Departments:



Work with Production, Quality control, and other teams to identify training needs and ensure alignment with operational goals. Provide significant training and onboarding support to the Direct Labour pool to meet legislative requirements, internal policies, procedures, and ever evolving departmental needs. Act as the first point of contact for all L&D-related queries, providing support and guidance to key stakeholders.

HR Responsibilities:



Assist with onboarding and induction programs for new hires. Contribute to the development of a positive and engaging learning culture.

Employee Relations:



Assist with employee inquiries, conflict resolution, and other employee relations matters in relation to learning and development matters.

Compliance & Process Improvement:



Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies. Support internal and external audits related to HR and training.
This specialist position requires an in-depth understanding of training methods to support our diverse team. The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge and expertise in the field of learning and development, working knowledge of instructional theory and practice, experience working with learning management systems, design skills, and excellent communication skills.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications



The role of

Learning & Development (L&D) Coordinator

is multifaceted and requires both industry-specific qualifications and technical abilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Formal Education:



Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET)/Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) or equivalent. Ideally, Higher National Certificate (HNC) in a related field. Educated to GCSE, A-Level, or above.

Experience



Experience in developing and delivering training programs. Experience in designing, developing, and delivering training programs. Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and regulations. Knowledge of relevant food safety certifications. Experience in the food manufacturing industry is preferred. Proficiency in relevant computer software (Microsoft Office Suite) and remote access training suites/software.

Skills



Communication:

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for explaining com-plex concepts, delivering presentations, and providing feedback.

Instructional Design:

Proficiency in instructional design principles, including adult learning theories and content creation techniques.

Analytical Abilities:

The ability to analyse training effectiveness and make data-driven decisions.

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to build relationships with employees, managers, and vendors is essential.

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address L&D-related issues.

Organisation & Time Management:

Exceptional organisational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Ability to motivate a team, delegate tasks, and foster a positive work environment.
