We're seeking an experienced and strategic

Learning & Development Manager

to lead our training agenda, shaping a high-performing, future-ready workforce. You'll play a pivotal role in embedding a learning culture that fosters innovation, engagement, and continuous professional development across the Group.

What You'll Be Doing



Strategic Development

: Partner with the Director of ESG to design and deliver an impactful People Plan aligned with performance improvement and succession planning goals.

Learning Frameworks

: Own and manage our SKEB Competency Skills Matrix, ensuring qualifications and CPD are role-specific and future-proofed.

Onboarding Excellence

: Design, deliver and evaluate comprehensive induction programmes tailored to each business unit's needs.

Training Management

: Coordinate and oversee all training activity across the business - from NVQs and apprenticeships to health & safety and digital skills.

Stakeholder Engagement

: Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Unit Leaders, HR, and the Social Value team to align development needs with business objectives.

Digital Innovation

: Introduce and manage digital learning tools (e.g. Skills Passport) to improve learning accessibility and track CPD in real-time.

Culture Building

: Promote a learning mindset through coaching, mentoring, and internal campaigns like 'Lunch & Learns' and toolbox talks.

About You



You're an experienced L&D professional with a

Level 5 CIPD

or equivalent qualification, and a track record of

delivering strategic training programmes

that meet both individual and organisational goals.

Experience and Skills:



Strong background in

designing, delivering, and evaluating

learning solutions. Experience managing

LMS systems

, digital learning platforms, and external training providers. Skilled at

stakeholder management

and capable of influencing at all levels. Confident

facilitator and coach

, both in person and virtually. Comfortable working at pace, juggling multiple priorities, and managing change.

Desirable:



Understanding of ESG and social value principles. Experience in managing apprenticeship programmes and DAS accounts. Prior work in a construction or technical industry is beneficial but not essential.
