About the team we are recruiting to
Coventry City Council's Adult Services have a simple vision and strategy: "Providing support, in the least intrusive manner possible, based on the assets, resources and abilities that are available to people."
We deliver this strategy through delivering a wide range of vital services, such as;
Working with adults of all ages with care and support needs and their carers
Enhancing people's ability to live safely and independently in their home
Enabling people to live independent and fulfilled lives by providing direct support
Conducting Financial Assessments
Improving performance of the wider service
The Business Systems Teams support both Adult and Children's Services, working with internal colleagues, external partners, and external organisations. We handle user queries, application incidents and improve the performance of our wider service through system developments and process improvements.
What is the job role?
An opportunity has arisen in the Business Systems (Adults) Team. This is a fast-paced work environment that incorporates a wide variety of skills. This is an exciting time to join us as we move towards implementing a new system to enable our colleagues to meet their statutory responsibilities and deliver outstanding service to the public.
Working closely with colleagues across Adult Services, ICT and Performance Teams, you'll have the opportunity to develop skills in systems and project management, using data analysis to inform developments.
You'll provide expert support to the users of our main business systems, to ensure good quality and timely record-keeping and effective use of corporate financial and physical resources.
You will contribute toward the development of systems, users and processes to ensure the systems are up-to-date, relevant and supportive of the work and priorities of the service, its staff and customers. You will also need to be able to explain technical and process-related information to non-technical staff and relate these to core business processes.
You will also provide training on the business systems to staff who are new to the respective services. This role will be of pivotal importance in the training of Adult Social Care staff on the new system and developing our wider support offer.
All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?
Are you passionate about delivering the best services for adults in Coventry and working in partnership with internal and external partners in the spirit of the One Coventry Values and Plan?
Are you confident in communicating with a range of stakeholders to explain complex information and gain an understanding of their needs?
Are you interested in and confident with technology, even if you are not from a highly technical background?
Then we want to hear from you.
We value and respect diversity and aim to recruit a workforce which reflects Coventry's diverse communities. As a result, we strongly encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for this post. We have policies and procedures in place to ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process, including the consideration of reasonable adjustments for people who have a disability or who are neuro diverse.
