We are seeking a dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team.
Our homes cater to individuals with disabilities, providing essential care and support to enhance their quality of life and foster their development.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering person-centred care and support in accordance with individual care and support plans. there will be elements of personal care, from time to time.
- Assisting with daily living tasks and accompanying individuals to appointments
- Implementing person-centred care practices that uphold independence, self-expression, and autonomy
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills by engaging effectively with individuals, their families, and other professionals
- Cultivating meaningful relationships with clients and their families to ensure holistic support
- Creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes overall well-being
- Offering compassionate emotional support with empathy and sensitivity
- Engaging individuals in community activities to enhance social skills and integration
Experience:
- Previous experience in care or related fields is advantageous, training will be provided.
- Proficiency in driving may be required for transportation purposes
- Experience working with children or individuals with learning disabilities is highly valued
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with residents and their families, colleagues, health and social care professionals.
- NVQ or QCF level 2 or 3 health and social care advantageous, training is provided.
