We are looking for a Team Leader to join our dedicated team of Support Workers. This is an opportunity for someone who brings energy, positivity, and a genuine passion for supporting others, and who is motivated to lead by example in delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

RG Care are a family owned company, with homes in Southend and Hornchurch providing a variety of support services from elderly and mental health to learning disabilities and Autism.

Our residents are all male and between the ages of 27-45 with various diagnosis & needs such as Autism, learning disability, Epilepsy, Non-verbal communication, Challenging behaviour and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
We are a purpose-built residential care home with 6 residents currently.
We are surrounded by fields and land as well as a fantastic Day center next door.
Our residents spend time out in the community, shopping, visiting London or further for day trips as well as engaging in preferred activities in the home and sessions in the day centre such as swimming, soft play and the gym.

Paddocks


Our residents are 5 males and 2 females between the ages of 24 - 43 with various diagnosis & needs such as Autism, learning disability, Epilepsy, Non verbal communication, challenging behaviour and anxiety disorders.
We are a purpose-built residential care home with 7 residents currently.
The home is surrounded by fields and land as well as a fantastic Day center over the road. Our residents spend time out in the community, shopping, visiting London or further for day trips as well as engaging in preferred activities in the home and sessions in the day centre such as swimming, soft play and the gym.

The Role

Support staff are required to support the residents of the home to reach their potential and make the most of their time in a positive and productive way, whilst supporting emotional regulation and maintaining safety. This can include a wide range of support depending on each individual's needs.

The Role:



Core support worker responsibilities



Providing personal care (bath, shower, hair washing, oral care, incontinence care, nail care, etc.) Food preparation and cooking Supporting daily living skills (laundry, vacuuming, changing bedding, cleaning) Supporting residents with activities and hobbies within and outside of the home Administering medication in line with training and company policy Maintaining health and safety within the home Maintaining infection control standards Providing emotional and behavioural support, including supporting behaviours of concern that may present physically Supporting communication using visual aids and assistive technologies Attending and supporting residents at medical appointments Recording accurate and timely notes relating to daily activities, nutrition and hydration, incidents, accidents, and concerns Participating in team handovers at the end of each shift Answering the house phone and front door, supporting visitors within the home and ensuring visitor identity is verified Maintaining a good working knowledge of residents' needs and company policies and procedures Attending training relevant to roles and responsibilities

Additional Responsibilities - Team Leader



In addition to the above, the Team Leader will take on a leadership and quality-assurance role within the home, supporting both staff development and service standards.

Acting as a role model in delivering high-quality, person-centred care Supporting, mentoring, and coaching support staff through regular

coaching sessions and informal supervision

Undertaking

observations of practice

to ensure care is delivered in line with training, policies, and best practice Completing

competency assessments

for support staff, including medication, personal care, and key care practices Supporting the completion of

audits

(e.g. medication, care records, health and safety, infection control) and assisting with follow-up actions Supporting the induction of new staff and acting as a point of contact during their probationary period Providing guidance and support during shifts, including responding to incidents and supporting decision-making Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and to a good standard, offering feedback and support where required Escalating concerns appropriately to management in line with company procedures Supporting effective communication within the team, including contributing to handovers and team discussions Maintaining a good working knowledge of all residents' support plans and ensuring consistency in care delivery

The Shifts


Our shift times are:

Early

07:00 am - 14:30 pm

Late

14:00 pm - 21:30 pm
We do allow long day shifts to be worked, only if the team member is happy to do so, or wishes to pick up overtime. These are 07:00am - 21:30pm.

We offer opportunities for advancement and the option to undertake qualifications such as QCF Level 3 in Health and social care and above.



Team members are expected to work a mixture of early and late shift as well as

every other weekend, and bank holidays

as standard. The rota is published 4 weeks in advance to support our team with a healthy work/life balance.

We are currently offering the following contracts for this position:


- Full time Days (37.5 hours)
