This is an exciting opportunity for someone with enthusiasm, motivation and vision to join Blackburn with Darwen library service team. Are you an excellent communicator? Can you offer customers 'something different' and encourage them to connect digitally with the service?



We are looking for someone with a strong belief in the value of our services and the difference libraries make in our communities. You will be aspirational, with a wide skills set, and have a creative approach to service design and delivery, enjoying the challenges a diverse role brings. You will have a successful track record of training delivery, project management and innovative event programming, in a public library or similar cultural, community or learning setting.



You will have proven experience of managing staff and working with partners in a changing customer and digital context. You will have great ICT skills and lead on the library service digital inclusion programme, utilising technologies to enhance the customer offer. This is a varied role which will enable you to use and develop your skills and interest.



You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant area of work, e.g. Library and Information Studies, community development work, education, cultural sector etc.



We are a small library service, but we are ambitious and passionate about the services we offer, continually striving to improve and extend our customer experience.
