We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to provide guidance and support to students in term time only (39 weeks) . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in secondary education, special education, or related fields, and will be skilled in fostering positive relationships with children. This role involves working closely with students to enhance their learning experiences, develop essential skills, and promote overall well-being.
Responsibilities
Provide mentoring to students, focusing on their academic and personal development.
Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by teaching staff
Implement behaviour management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
Utilise techniques from applied behaviour analysis to support students with special needs.
Communicate effectively with parents and educators regarding student progress and challenges.
Maintain accurate records of student achievements and areas for improvement.
Foster a nurturing environment that supports emotional and social development.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance mentoring skills.
Requirements
Experience working with students in educational or childcare settings is preferable but not essential as full training will be given.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
Ability to proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy.
