Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mentor to support children's developmental and educational needs within our organisation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, special education, or related fields, and possess excellent communication skills. This role involves guiding children through personalised learning and behavioural strategies, fostering their growth in a nurturing environment. The Mentor will work closely with children, parents, and educational teams to promote positive development and learning outcomes.
Responsibilities
Provide personalised mentoring to children with diverse learning needs, including those requiring speech therapy, behaviour management, or special education support
Assist with tutoring in core subjects such as Maths and literacy, ensuring tailored approaches to individual learning styles
Support early childhood development through activities aligned with preschool and toddler care standards
Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive conduct and social skills
Facilitate physical education activities to encourage motor skills development and overall wellbeing
Collaborate with educators and parents to develop customised learning plans and progress reports
Proofread educational materials and assist in creating engaging teaching resources
Use applied behaviour analysis techniques where appropriate to support behavioural improvements
Act as a positive role model, fostering confidence and independence in children during mentoring sessions
Experience
Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or toddler care roles
Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, special education practices, or applied behaviour analysis is highly desirable
Proven ability in teaching or tutoring across various subjects such as Maths or literacy
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and team members
Experience in behaviour management strategies within early childhood or special education contexts
Background in early childhood education or related fields such as childcare, teaching physical education, or mentoring programmes is preferred
Demonstrated organisational skills for planning activities and tracking developmental progress
