What will you be doing?
You'll be at the heart of our
Learning Resource Centre (LRC)
, helping students and staff access a wide range of print and digital resources. Your days will be varied, and could include:
Supporting students with using IT equipment, software, and digital tools
Helping manage book loans, stock, and resource requests via our Heritage Cirqa system
Creating engaging displays and promotional materials to showcase our resources
Assisting with library inductions and outreach to curriculum teams
Promoting a calm, focused, and inclusive study environment
Helping with enquiries in person, by email, or over the phone
Providing excellent customer service and encouraging positive learning behaviours
You'll also assist with some administrative tasks, from raising purchase orders to maintaining accurate records and supporting events like enrolment days and open evenings.
About you:
We're looking for someone who is:
Friendly, approachable and enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds
Comfortable using IT systems (Microsoft Office, the internet, basic troubleshooting)
Highly organised and happy working independently or as part of a team
Confident in communicating clearly and supporting learners with diverse needs
Enthusiastic about both books anddigital learning tools
Committed to safeguarding, equality and inclusive education
You'll need:
GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A-C or 4+), or equivalent
Good general IT skills
Experience in a customer-facing environment (education, libraries, retail or similar)
Bonus points if you have:
Experience working in a library or learning resource centre
A Level 2 IT qualification, or a qualification in Libraries, Information, or Customer Service
Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System or library software
