Job Description

Bury College have an exciting opportunity within their Childcare Learning & Skills Coach team, this is a part time (22.2 hours per week), fixed term position for the academic year 25/26. This role would suit either an experienced Assessor, or someone with a background in the Childcare industry.



The role of Learning and Skills Coach - Childcare is responsible supporting a group of apprentices whilst ensuring the College standards and quality performance indicators are delivered.



Following and abiding by the College Standards and Core Principals and assuring excellence in the experience, progress and outcomes for the Apprentices and their employers, you will inspire, motivate and raise learners' aspirations and participate in the development, planning and delivery of a range of standards, frameworks and programmes within your curriculum area.



Delivering consistently good or better learning outcomes and progress by employing an effective variety of learning methods, skills development, coaching and mentoring, you will carry out practical assessments and demonstrate a commitment and value of the importance of maths, English and ICT skills to the learners' future and ensure the learners are full engaged in continual development of these skills.



Candidates for this role must have experience in a relevant occupational setting and a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in that occupational specialism. Candidates should also either have an Assessor and/or Verifier Award (or equivalent), or be willing to work towards this during their probation period. Ideally with experience of delivering Employer Responsive programmes including Apprenticeships, you must be capable of tracking, monitoring and providing feedback on learner progress to management, learners and employers.



Due to the field based nature of the role, you must hold a full driving licence, have the use of a car and be willing to travel within the Greater Manchester region.
