Job Description

Working closely with lecturers and tutors, you'll help enhance the Post-16 learning experience and support learners in achieving their goals. Full and part-time term-time roles are available (6 hours per day), based either at the main campus or offsite centres such as Withybush or Folly Farm.

Salary Details:

BS14 BAR 16 (currently 24,358 BAR 24,396 pro rata)


This is a 2-point extended scale with progression incrementally on an annual basis. Please note, progression beyond the bar is dependent on an internal set of conditions. Commencing salaries will be assessed in accordance with the College's starting salaries matrix.

Hours of work:

We have the following opportunities available;


Full time - 30 hours per week (worked over 5 days per week)


Part-time - less than 30 hours per week (for those interested in less hours)


The working pattern is: 9.00am - 4.00pm and will be worked over 36 weeks per year (which are the College's term time weeks from September to June)


You will be required to undertake an additional 45 hours, outside of your usual working pattern, over the academic year to undertake duties that will help you develop in your role. This may include attendance at team meetings, CPD activities or upskilling and administration duties.

Contract Type:

Permanent and Fixed Term positions available

Annualised hours contracts are paid in equal amounts of 12 months (September to August) and the appropriate element of payment for accrued annual leave for the duration of the contract will be incorporated into the calculation. Please note, this is subject to the date of commencement

Qualifications:



You will hold a minimumGCSE Grade A-C or equivalent in Maths and English You will ideally hold a Manual Handling Certificate. If not held, you will be required to undertake and achieve during employment It is desirable to hold a full First Aid certificate upon commencement.

Experience:



You will have previous experience of supporting individuals with a range of Additional Learning Needs, Learning Difficulties or Disabilities and; You will have experience of working with the public and with young people and ideally awareness of the Post 16 sector. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, (in particular the use of Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is essential to the role

You will receive full training and induction into the role and ongoing relevant continuous professional development throughout your period of employment.

Bydd gennych brofiad blaenorol o gefnogi unigolion ag ystod o Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol, Anawsterau Dysgu neu Anableddau ac; Bydd gennych brofiad o weithio gyda'r cyhoedd a gyda phobl ifanc ac yn ddelfrydol ymwybyddiaeth o'r sector Ol-16.
