About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support pupils with additional needs, working closely with the SENDCo Lead, Inclusion Lead, and Class Teachers to enhance progress and raise achievement across all areas of the curriculum. This role involves delivering tailored provision both inside and outside the classroom, contributing meaningfully to the pupil's academic, social, emotional, and physical development. You will implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and Support Plans, promote positive behaviour in line with school policy, and help adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with the pupils and their families, safeguard their wellbeing, and actively participate in school life--including extra-curricular activities, trips, and events. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual with a strong ability to engage and communicate effectively with young children, teachers, and parents. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering pre-planned programmes of work and demonstrate sensitivity and diplomacy when resolving conflicts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to tailor messaging to a range of audiences. Experience working in educational environments, particularly with children who have Special Educational Needs (SEN), is highly desirable. A thorough understanding of safeguarding in schools, health and safety, data protection, race relations, and confidentiality is required. Familiarity with the SEND Code of Practice and strategies to support children with additional needs is also important. We are looking for someone who is flexible, empathetic, and deeply committed to helping every child reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will possess personal integrity, honesty, energy, and enthusiasm, and be open-minded, reflective, and adaptable to change. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritise effectively are key to success in this role.
