Learning Support Assistants

to join a nurturing and forward-thinking

primary SEMH school in Bournemouth

, supporting pupils with

social, emotional and mental health needs

and

challenging behaviour

.

About the Role:


This is a

full-time position

, working with pupils aged 5-11 who have been identified as needing additional behavioural and emotional support. You'll play a vital role in helping children manage their emotions, engage in learning and develop the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:



Support individual pupils and small groups with their learning and behaviour Promote positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans Provide consistent, calm and supportive presence throughout the school day Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff

What We're Looking For:



Experience supporting children with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour (essential) Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice Confidence in using de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies A team player who is flexible and committed to the school's ethos Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, Mental Health First Aid) are desirable but not essential
