Learning Support
Assistant
to join our committed team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a vibrant and diverse school community where your contribution will have a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
Foster enjoyment, enthusiasm, and independence in learning for all pupils.
Support the development of confident, caring pupils who show responsibility and pride in themselves and the school.
Plan and deliver learning activities under the supervision of class teachers, adapting lessons to meet individual pupil needs.
Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress and achievement systematically to support high-quality teaching.
Provide care and support to pupils, including personal care where necessary, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
Support pupils with special educational needs, including 1:1 support as required.
Promote inclusion, acceptance, and positive behaviour within the classroom.
Assist with phonics intervention and use technology effectively to support learning.
Provide clerical and administrative support to teachers as needed.
Contribute positively to the school ethos and work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
Participate in school activities such as visits and swimming lessons, and carry out break duty supervision.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience supporting children's learning in a school environment, ideally with pupils who have diverse needs.
Ability to deliver learning activities effectively, adapting to individual pupil responses.
Familiarity with assessment and monitoring strategies to track pupil progress.
Competence in using ICT to support teaching and learning.
Understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies.
Experience or willingness to support pupils with behavioural challenges and special educational needs.
Desirable Qualities
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
A proactive mindset with a passion for contributing to school improvement.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support a positive school culture.
