We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our educational team. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, to provide tailored support that promotes their academic and social development. Duties
Assist teachers in delivering classroom activities and personalised learning programmes.
Support children with autism and other disabilities to access the curriculum effectively.
Provide one-to-one assistance to pupils requiring additional help, including those with special educational needs.
Facilitate communication between children and staff, ensuring clear understanding and engagement.
Support children with toddler care routines, including meal times, play, and rest periods.
Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and specific needs to inform planning and reporting.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and development.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support individualised education plans.
Requirements
Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities.
Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other developmental conditions is highly desirable.
Previous experience in teaching or supporting children in an educational setting is preferred.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents.
Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to meet diverse learner needs.
Ability to work as part of a team within a busy school environment.
