We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-to-one support within our caring environment. If you are passionate about making a difference and helping children reach their full potential, we would love to hear from you. This role is offered on a fixed-term basis initially, subject to specific funding arrangements. However, there may be scope for further employment within the school, depending on future funding and staffing requirements.

The Role



In this role you will:

Work closely with the class teacher and ALNCo (Additional Learning Needs Coordinator) to implement the child's Individual Development Plan (IDP) in line with the

Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018

. Provide tailored support to meet communication, sensory, and emotional regulation needs. Use strategies such as visual timetables, social stories, and structured routines to promote engagement and independence. Support learning activities, transitions, and social interaction in class and during unstructured times. Record progress and contribute to regular review meetings. Liaise with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure consistency and best outcomes.

Requirements



Experience supporting children with ASD or other neurodiverse needs in an educational setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable



Training in autism-specific approaches (PECS, Makaton, TEACCH).

Grade 3 - 24,796.00 for 28.45 hours per week term time only for 45.8 weeks per annum equating to 16,747.76 pro rata rising to 46.8 weeks, 17,113.43 pro rata per annum after 5 years' service.
