Are you passionate about working outdoors and engaging in outdoor adventures with animals and students. In our unique rural farm setting, you will work alongside a dedicated team, fostering a love for learning through engaging and personalised educational experiences on a farm.
Job Type: Permanent / Full or part time
Schedule: Monday to Friday - 09:00 - 17:00 term time only (39 weeks per year)
About us
Miniland Farm is a therapeutic SEN provision in a beautiful, rural farm setting, where we provide an enriching and unique natural environment for children with complex needs. We use animal assisted therapy and personalised education to support the wellbeing, confidence and future independence of 6-16 year olds. Our students often face significant challenges, including anxiety, school phobia, and conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
Key Responsibilities:
Running sessions with students on a 1-1 basis as well group activities.
Plan outdoor activities and activities with animals. From forest school sessions, to animal care, wildlife watching, educational courses and woodland adventures.
Collaborate with parents, schools, and local authorities to ensure holistic support.
Be a part of a positive, fun, and collaborative team environment.
Spend time in the classrooms offering support to the teachers.
Requirements:
If you have scouts, outdoor activity leader qualifications, have experience working in a school or simply a love for working with animals and children then this is the perfect job for you.
Be confident, enthusiastic, fun and flexible. Every day is different.
Experience working with and handling animals from goats to guineapigs.
Creative, flexible, and adaptable approach to working with children.
Passion for making a difference in the lives of children with learning disabilities.
Successful would require a full DBS for safeguarding compliance.
