We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated nursery team at Ivy House Farnham.
The successful candidate will work closely with children, in particular, those with special educational needs, to provide tailored support that promotes their learning and development.
This role offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' lives, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment. The role is part time, working 20 hours per week with overtime being available. Shifts are Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm, depending on the needs of the setting and the timings of the SEN children in particular.
Responsibilities
Assist the nursery staff in delivering engaging and inclusive activities tailored to individual children's needs.
Support children with autism, disabilities, or behavioral challenges to ensure they can participate fully in all activities.
Implement personalised learning plans.
Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for all children.
Assist with behavioral management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to monitor progress and address individual requirements.
Requirements
Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting children with diverse needs.
Prior experience in toddler care or early years education is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to engage confidently with children, parents, and team members.
Compassionate attitude with patience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
