We are seeking members of staff to work in our Learning Support Department, with full-time and/or part-time hours available during term-time only and to start as soon as possible or in January 2026. Initially this will be for a fixed period until 31st August 2026 as roles are subject to funding for individual assigned pupils. If the assigned pupils remain at the school and their funding is continued then the contract may be extended for further rolling academic years.
LSAs typically work within either the Infant and Junior Division or Senior Divisions (including Sixth Form). However, a flexible approach is sometimes needed. Please make it clear in your application which age range you have experience of working with.
We have both full and part-time roles available as soon as possible or from January 2026. It involves working between 7.5 to 32.5 hours per week during term-time (35.6 weeks per year). The full-time equivalent salary would be 28,848, the actual salary will be lower and dependent on the actual working hours / working pattern agreed. Please note that these posts are temporary, dependent upon the funding the school receives for the supported pupils.
The precise delineation of responsibilities will inevitably develop over time and will need to be flexible, but will include:
Support the integration and progress of SEN students in the classroom as well as at break and lunchtime if appropriate.
Plan and deliver intervention programmes for individuals or small groups.
Select and prepare teaching resources.
Provide in-class support to engage and motivate students to learn and participate.
Liaise with staff, parents and external agencies.
Carry out general administrative tasks.
Assist with the supervision of students to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Have a working knowledge of King's Safeguarding Policy, procedure and guidance.
Undertake other various tasks as appropriate to the needs of the students and the wider organisation.
Any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined and assigned by the Principal or a member of the Senior Management Team.
This is not an exhaustive list and may vary as the school's requirements change.

If you're successful in the first round of recruitment, you will be sent a further, more in depth application form from The Kings School to assess your suitability.
