The Role





As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning by providing tailored support with mobility, personal care, and access to the curriculum.


Working under the guidance of the SENDCO, you'll assist in creating an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.


Your responsibilities will include supporting individual students and groups, liaising with teachers and medical professionals, and contributing to the development of individual plans and health care strategies.



This position is term time only plus one week, within a collaborative and supportive school community committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.


You'll also have opportunities to participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills and career progression.



About the Candidate



What We're Looking For





We are seeking someone with experience supporting children or young people with additional needs, particularly those with physical disabilities or complex medical conditions.



You should hold an NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent) and demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills.



The ideal candidate will:



Be empathetic, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team. You'll need excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise your workload, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. A willingness to undertake relevant training, such as first aid and moving and handling, is essential.
