Job Description

We are looking for a nurturing, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive, forward-thinking team. This role will specialise in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), predominantly within our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - SEN Provision Salary: NJC Grade 3 (Point 5) - 25, 583 (pro-rata) Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only Contract: Full time, temporary contract (ending 31st Aug, 2027) Start Date: as soon as possible Responsible to: Senior Leadership Team/SENCo

About the Role



The successful candidate will support pupils with SEND to access learning, develop independence and thrive in a caring environment. Most of your time will be spent in EYFS, working closely with teachers, families and professionals to deliver provision tailored to pupils' Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs).

You will:

support high-quality teaching and personalised learning build positive relationships that support emotional wellbeing help children develop independence, communication and social skills model inclusive practices that promote participation in all aspects of school life

We are seeking someone who:

enjoys working with young children and understands their developmental needs is patient, caring, motivated and able to build strong relationships can work collaboratively with teachers, parents and specialists understands, or is willing to learn about, effective strategies for supporting children with SEND demonstrates resilience and a passion for ensuring every child thrives
Essential qualifications:

GCSE (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above in English and Maths Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
Desirable attributes include:

experience supporting children with additional needs knowledge of child development confidence using ICT to support learning awareness of safeguarding practices
