Job Title: Learning Support Assistant



Salary: 20,906.25 per annum (not pro rata)



Location: Fieldstone School, Devon, TQ12 1NH



Contract: Permanent; Term Time Only



Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm



Start: October 2025

We are seeking a compassionate, committed Learning Support Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience of our students. Fieldstone School is a rapidly growing specialist school dedicated to supporting young people with Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

About the Role




As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work under the guidance of the Deputy Principal and class teachers to deliver flexible, person-centred programmes of study. Your role will involve supporting individual pupils and groups to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.


This position is both challenging and rewarding, offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your practical, hands-on teaching approach will directly impact the lives of young people.


Following a thorough induction programme, your duties will include:

Key Responsibilities:



Assist in the planning and implementation of tailored work programmes for pupils with SEMH needs Provide general classroom support, helping to manage and organize pupils with special needs Help create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment Promote inclusion, ensuring every pupil has equal opportunities to learn and develop Contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people at the school Perform relevant clerical and administrative duties to support teaching staff

Key Skills & Experience Required:



GCSEs in Maths and English at Level 4 or above Experience working with children and young people in a learning environment Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, ideally SEMH Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently Experience with general clerical and administrative tasks Training or knowledge of relevant teaching or learning strategies is highly desirable
