We're currently looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Tutor to join our BASE team -- a dedicated provision within our wider SEN (Special Educational Needs) department supporting students with higher and more complex needs.

Main Areas of Responsibility
As a
Learning Support Tutor (BASE)
, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils with their learning on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, under the direction of the class teacher or Inclusion Manager
Attending to pupils' personal care needs, including hygiene and welfare routines, and supporting individual programmes related to social or health needs
Assisting in the implementation of
person-centred planning
and contributing to the review of
SEND support targets
Liaising with external professionals (e.g. speech therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists) to ensure the effective delivery of individualised support plans
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where
SEND students
feel valued and supported
Monitoring pupils' progress and emotional well-being, identifying barriers to learning and reporting concerns to the appropriate staff
Acting as a positive role model and establishing supportive relationships with pupils
Encouraging inclusion across all aspects of school life, fostering acceptance and engagement with all peers
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people, particularly those with special educational needs (SEND, SEMH, ASD, etc.)
Is confident, patient, and has a compassionate approach to supporting learning
Understands the importance of personal care, safeguarding, and behaviour management
Can work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and families
Is reliable, proactive, and committed to student progress and well-being
