Learning Support Worker with Personal Care
to join our dedicated Additional Learning Support team.
About the Role
This is a truly rewarding position where no two days are the same. You'll provide
one-to-one and in-class support
to students with a wide range of needs -- including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and health conditions -- helping them to access and engage with their learning fully and confidently.
A key part of your role will include delivering
personal and intimate care
, supporting mobility, and administering medication, all while ensuring each student's dignity, comfort, and independence are maintained.
You'll work closely with tutors and support teams to create an inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported, safe, and able to succeed.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing personal and intimate care in line with care plans and college policy
Supporting learners in class and during activities to help them stay focused and engaged
Assisting with literacy, numeracy, communication, and study skills
Promoting independence through assistive technology and tailored strategies
Supporting learners with mobility, including the use of walking aids and wheelchairs
Recording and monitoring learner progress and updating EHCPs
Accompanying students on work placements, trips, and enrichment opportunities
Building strong, supportive relationships with learners and staff
What We're Looking For
You'll need:
A
Level 2 qualification in English and Maths
A
positive, patient and flexible approach
Experience working with learners in educational, care, or support settings (desirable)
Willingness to complete or hold a
Level 2 qualification in Learning Support
An understanding of the importance of
dignity, respect, and safeguarding
Confidence with personal care tasks and infection control protocols
A real passion for
inclusive education and learner wellbeing
