to champion the young learners in our care. In this vital role, you will be central to creating a nurturing space where children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs can build confidence and achieve their potential.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
Deliver
one-to-one mentoring
tailored to the unique emotional and academic journey of each child.
Champion
positive behaviour
by implementing strategies that build resilience, self-regulation, and strong social skills.
Provide
targeted academic support
, especially in Maths, breaking down concepts to foster understanding and boost student confidence.
Create and lead
inspiring activities
thoughtfully designed to match each child's developmental stage and emotional needs.
Work in
partnership with families, educators, and specialists
to develop holistic and consistent support plans.
Utilise
trauma-informed care and positive reinforcement
to empower children, helping them develop new skills and gain independence.
Track student progress,
celebrating milestones
and providing constructive feedback to ensure their continued development.
What You Bring
? Proven expertise in
behaviour management
and a deep understanding of SEMH support. ? A background in
early years education
, with experience nurturing the emotional development of young children. ? Direct experience in
special education
or a similar mentoring role focused on SEMH. ? Familiarity with
speech and language support strategies
is a plus. ? An understanding of
therapeutic practices
like play therapy, mindfulness, or applied behaviour analysis. ? A natural ability to mentor, driven by a passion for
empowering and inspiring young people
. ? The skill to make learning accessible, particularly in Maths, by
adapting your tutoring style
to individual needs. ? A
patient and empathetic approach
, with a proven ability to build rapport and trust with children and their families.
