Abingdon & Witney College

is excited to expand our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Support Team. We are looking for compassionate, dedicated, and energetic individuals who are passionate about providing personal care and vital support to students with diverse needs. This role is essential in helping students thrive academically and personally through one-to-one assistance, classroom support, pastoral care, group facilitation, and delivering personal care.

Key Responsibilities


Provide personalised one-to-one support to students with SEND, including assistance with personal care needs such as hygiene, mobility, and daily living tasks. Support students in classroom environments to enable full participation in learning activities. Offer sensitive pastoral support to enhance student wellbeing, confidence, and independence. Facilitate group activities and workshops that promote social interaction and collaborative learning. Ensure all personal care duties are carried out respectfully and sensitively, maintaining student dignity at all times. Work closely with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored support plans. Contribute actively to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive college community.

Essential Skills


Confident and comfortable providing personal care support, with a genuine commitment to upholding dignity and respect. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trusting relationships with young people. Patient, empathetic, and understanding approach to supporting students with a variety of complex needs. Flexible and adaptable, able to work across different settings and respond to the evolving needs of students. Energetic, professional, and enthusiastic with a passion for making a positive impact on students' lives. Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
