Job Summary


The Learning Support Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the educational development of children, particularly those with special educational needs. This position involves working closely with children, including those with autism and other disabilities, to facilitate their learning and personal growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a passion for helping children reach their full potential.

Duties



Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, including autism and other disabilities. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's requirements. Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and adapting materials to meet diverse learning needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence among all students. Assist with daily activities, including personal care for younger children or those requiring additional support. Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the child's education. Observe and report on student progress, behaviour, and any concerns to ensure appropriate interventions are made.

Qualifications



Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities, is highly desirable. Background in teaching or child care, especially in a special education setting, is advantageous. Familiarity with strategies for supporting children with autism and other developmental challenges. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of children. Relevant qualifications in education or child development are beneficial but not essential. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: 15.46-15.90 per hour
