Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Learning Support for our alternative provision located in Basford, Nottingham. The ideal candidate will work with young people with complex behavioural and emotional needs, providing necessary support with their education and assistance to other team members in meeting the diverse learning needs of the students.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as necessary. Assist in the development and implementation of individualised learning plans. Support in monitoring student progress and adapting necessary strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes. Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to create a cohesive support system for students. Facilitate a positive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes student engagement and confidence.

Experience

Previous experience in an educational setting or working with children, especially those with complex needs, is highly desirable. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff. A background in special education is advantageous. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed are essential traits for this role. Familiarity with educational tools and resources that support varied learning styles will be beneficial.
