We have an exciting position for a part-time, term time, Learning Support Practitioner to join our Telford team!





For this position you will be required to enable our students to transform their lives by helping them to attain their aspirations - promoting independence, developing life, work and personal care skills, during college life and the work place in line with student aspirations and outcomes.

Key Role Specific Responsibilities:

Assisting the teacher/session lead in preparing the environment and materials for each session. Assisting the teacher/session lead in maintaining the cleanliness and general working order of the learning environment and resources. Assisting the teacher/session lead in delivering the activities, either as part of a group or, on occasions, in a 1:1 setting. Take an active role in supporting students to develop their personal care and daily life skills at college and in the wider community in accordance with the agreed Education Heath Care Plan (EHCP) or equivalent outcomes. This may include physical support with pushing wheelchairs, transfers and hoisting, and intimate support with dressing, personal care and changing of continence aids. Supporting the students at mealtimes, which may include fully assisted feeding or encouraging independence where appropriate. Supporting students with the administering of medication (specialist training will be provided where necessary) including via PEG where needed. Supporting the students to access a range of therapies including Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy (specialist training will be provided where necessary) Contribution to administration work e.g. assessment reports, learning plans, progress reporting and RARPA achievements. Development and use of appropriate and stimulating teaching resources including ICT.

Safeguarding awareness and promotion in all aspects of the role to promote the welfare of vulnerable young adults Adherence to Health & Safety and Food Safety standards & policies in all aspects of the job including timely completion of risk assessments, documentation and audits To be responsible for maintaining a clean environment that meets infection, prevention and control requirements and is conducive to safe practice




For this role we are offering part time (3 days a week), 08.45 - 17.00, term time contract, offering a salary range of 14,310.00 - 15,096.00.
