Leaving Care Support Worker Apprentice

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we want every young person leaving care to feel supported, valued and ready for the future. As an apprentice Leaving Care Support Worker, you'll be part of a team helping young people aged 18+ develop the confidence and life skills they need to thrive. It's a role where you'll make a real, lasting difference and develop your own skills at the same time.

Working Style:

You'll be based in Acton and play a key role in supporting care leavers in our semi-independent units for Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team making a real difference to residents' lives.

What you'll be doing:

You'll be part of a close-knit, experienced team supporting care leavers. Day to day, you'll work alongside Social Workers, Personal Advisors and others to provide the kind of practical support and encouragement a young person might expect from a trusted adult.

That could mean helping someone manage their money, apply for college, attend health appointments, cook a meal or simply talk through their worries. You'll build relationships based on trust, empathy, consistency and be a steady presence when things feel uncertain or difficult.

This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues while making a genuine impact in young people's lives. You'll receive full support and training throughout your apprenticeship.

Why join us

At the end of your apprenticeship, we'll help you explore next steps, whether that's applying for a permanent role, in social care, or using your skills in another part of the Council. You'll also benefit from a competitive salary, access to wider learning opportunities and a friendly, collaborative working environment.
