Salary/Benefits:

Salary is between 33,048 and 38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

- Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

About the role:





We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing and Digital Technologies department at The Bedford College Group

.





As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:


Teaching & Learner Progression

- Deliver high?quality, engaging teaching, learning and assessment across Level 1-3 Computing and the T Level in Digital Software Development, supporting learner progression into higher education, apprenticeships and skilled employment.

Inclusive Practice & Learner Support

- Plan and deliver adaptive, inclusive lessons for learners of varying abilities, including SEND, creating a positive learning environment and implementing timely interventions to support achievement.

Curriculum & Quality Development

- Contribute to the design, review and delivery of a modern, industry?relevant Computing curriculum, maintaining accurate documentation and working collaboratively to meet quality assurance standards.

Specialist Computing Expertise

- Apply strong subject knowledge in programming, software development, computer science and cyber security, using practical, real?world learning activities and keeping skills current through professional development.

- Engage in cross?college activities, employer and university links, enrichment opportunities, and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health & safety, and continuous training requirements.

About you:




Qualifications & Subject Expertise

- Degree in Computer Science (or related subject), teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one), with strong subject knowledge across Computing, website development, information systems and core digital skills.

Teaching & Curriculum Delivery

- Experience teaching Level 1-3 Computing in FE or similar settings, delivering engaging practical lessons, managing IT suites, creating high?quality resources and adapting materials for vocational and project?based learning.

Inclusive Practice & Learner Support

- Proven ability to support SEND, EHCP and high?needs learners using inclusive, adaptive teaching strategies, effective behaviour management and clear communication for learners of mixed abilities, including ESOL.

Assessment, Quality & Digital Systems

- Experience with BTEC assessment design, marking and internal verification, quality assurance processes, and confident use of digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, ProMonitor and MIS systems.

Professional Skills & Commitment

- Strong organisation, problem?solving and classroom management skills, with commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, continuous professional development, and flexible working for events and employer engagement.
