Do you have a passion for dog grooming and a desire to inspire the next generation of professionals? East Durham College is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic

Lecturer in Dog Grooming

to deliver high-quality, engaging lessons to both adult learners and 16-18-year-olds.

What You'll Do:



Deliver practical and theory-based dog grooming lessons aligned with industry standards Act as course leader, managing assessments, coordination, and administration Support students' academic and personal development in an inclusive environment Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative curriculum content Maintain a safe and professional learning space Engage with employers and stakeholders to enhance student opportunities

Essential Requirements:



City & Guilds Level 3 Qualification in Dog Grooming GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one Experience grooming dogs to breed standards Excellent dog handling and styling skills Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills

Desirable Attributes:



Assessors and Internal Verifier qualifications Experience teaching formal qualifications and mentoring Background in customer service and working with a variety of dog breeds Use of social media for marketing
