MK College Group have an exciting opportunity for a English Lecturer to join the prison-based Education Team at HMP Springhill and Grendon.


As a English Lecturer/Tutor, you will be actively engaging prison-based learners with creative classes and resources. Many of the learners have a diverse range of needs and learning abilities, they will often have had a negative experience with education. As a successful English Tutor, you will truly inspire them and provide learners with a positive learning experience.


This role may involve outreach work outside of the main classroom setting as well as formal class based learning. You will be connecting with learners in a professional manner, supporting them with their learning, enabling them to achieve success through not only qualifications, but developing the confidence and softer skills that they can apply to employment upon release as well as other areas within education the prison.


We are seeking an individual who can communicate well with learners to inspire and motivate them. The average class consists of 8 learners and the sessions are approximately 3 hours each morning and afternoon. Your lessons will need to be adaptable, innovative, and imaginative.


No previous teaching experience but a subject specialist English Degree? Don't let this put you off...
