Job Description


Applications are welcomed for a Lecturer grade 7 or Senior Lecturer grade 8, dependent on qualifications and experience, within the School of Engineering in areas relating to Engineering Design for Sustainability.

The School of Engineering at Manchester is a national and international centre for education in the Mechanical Engineering and other disciplines. Key research priorities include Net Zero & Environmental Sustainability, Robotics, Autonomous Systems & AI, Digital Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing, and Engineering for Health and Engineering Materials. We conduct research in sustainable and digital manufacturing. Recently we appointed several Professors and lecturers in areas of research targeting rapid and deep decarbonisation across energy and industrial sectors. We now seek to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, to further develop capacity in Engineering Design for Sustainability. We expect ambitious research and clear pathways to impact and social responsibility as well as substantial contribution to teaching in the areas of design and manufacture at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

We are interested to hear from early and mid-career academics with expertise and interests in any areas of engineering design and manufacture that embraces circularity, life cycle assessment, and sustainability.
