The role
The University of Bristol seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Academic Development. This role will actively contribute to the enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment across the University of Bristol as a member of the CREATE Team within the (BILT). This role is 0.4 FTE and permanent.
What will you be doing?
Appointment to this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the leadership and delivery of an Advance HE accredited Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice and an internal Fellowship Scheme. Activities include planning and delivering sessions, mentoring and assessment, as well as working with programme teams to enhance teaching and improve the student learning experience, particularly around active learning. The appointee will also contribute to other enhancement activities, including training for teaching support staff, personal tutors, research supervisors, and programme directors. The appointee will also undertake scholarly activity such as research, and publishing and presenting at SOTL conferences.
You should apply if
The successful candidate will have experience of being an academic developer and teaching within the context of an accredited CPD scheme to achieve Advance HE fellowships with a specialism in active learning. They will possess a deep understanding of the higher education learning environment in the UK and will be passionate about teaching and learning and enhancing the student experience. The candidate should have experience as a Unit or Programme Director, and must themselves be recognised as an Advance HE Fellow, Senior Fellow or Principal Fellow.
