Job Description


At East Durham College, we are investing millions of pounds into the redevelopment of our Houghall campus, ensuring that our land-based students get the very best facilities. So far, we have invested over \xc2\xa313m, including:

  • \xc2\xa32.2m in the redevelopment of Houghall\xe2\x80\x99s icon\xc2\xadic entrance building
  • Opened a new \xc2\xa32.4m Animal Care centre
  • Developed a state-of-the-art, \xc2\xa32.6m agricultural unit
  • Opened a brand new equine centre complete with indoor arena
  • With exciting plans for further development over the next 3 years
About the Role
  • To deliver exceptional teaching which will assist students to achieve excellent results within an exam-based qualification
  • To inspire students to appreciate and enjoy all aspects of agriculture, instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding
  • To deliver City and Guild technical Qualifications at Level 2 and 3
About You
  • Have specialist knowledge from the Agriculture Industry
  • Hold a teaching qualification or have a willingness to complete one
  • Hold a degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
  • Be a strong team player, have excellent administration skills and demonstrate a willingness to engage with external partners and industry
  • Be a highly motivated lecturer with experience of providing tutorial support to students being advantageous
