West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds 0.6 FTE - 22.2 hours per week, 52 weeks per year - Permanent Salary: 29,583 - 41,964 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience) Actual Salary: 18,764 - 26,617 per annum
We are seeking a skilled Lecturer in Bricklaying to join our Construction team and deliver high-quality brickwork training within an education setting. The successful candidate will support learners in developing practical trade skills, underpinning knowledge, and essential employability skills to prepare them for careers in the construction industry.

You will hold a recognised trade qualification in bricklaying (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and have recent or relevant industry experience. A teaching qualification such as a PGCE or CertEd is desirable, though applicants without one must be willing to work towards it. You should have a strong understanding of current building regulations, modern construction methods, and industry standards, along with excellent organisational and classroom management skills.

This role requires a commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting learner success. You will be expected to embed employability, English, and Maths into your teaching, ensuring students are fully prepared for progression into work or further training.
