The Department of Culture, Communication and Media (CCM) is a department of IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society. It is committed to excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of: Communication and Media Studies; Applied Linguistics; Multimodality studies, Language Learning and Intercultural Communication; Learning with Digital Technologies; Art; Design and Museology; Music Education; Academic writing; English education.
CCM has an exciting research portfolio of projects funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Economic and Social Research Council, Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Government and a variety of charities. It is home to one of the IOE's leading research units, the London Knowledge Lab, which investigates learning and teaching with digital technologies in a wide range of settings and provides innovative programmes at Masters and Doctoral level.

The post-holder will be located in the International Centre for Intercultural Studies.
The International Centre for Intercultural Studies promotes intellectually rigorous, practically relevant and interdisciplinary Intercultural Studies that advance understanding of the role of culture in society, education and communication and inform intercultural practices and policy.

About the role
------------------
The post-holder will contribute to Masters, PhD and other programmes and research, knowledge exchange and consultancy activities in the Centre and in the department.
Alongside the demonstration of a broad theoretical and practical understanding of intercultural communication, the post-holder will have knowledge and expertise in Digital Intercultural Communication. We are seeking a candidate who not only engages critically with issues of culture and communication in digital contexts but also demonstrates a robust understanding of digital technologies, including current and emerging tools, platforms and digital environments. The candidate will take a lead in developing this aspect of the MA Intercultural Communication. They will also play a significant role in the planning and development of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies.
