The School invites applications for a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from individuals seeking to carry out interdisciplinary, cutting-edge research at an international level. Applicants should have outstanding communication skills and a passion for curriculum development and the delivery of engaging and innovative teaching. This post will support delivery of a new joint 3+1 programme with an overseas University. The Appointee will primarily be based in Aberdeen but will be expected to travel to China and/or other overseas locations to deliver their teaching obligations; visits are likely to be up to 4 weeks duration at any one time, typically twice per year. Two positions are being advertised and the key educational areas to be covered include Finite State Machines, Control Systems for Electronics, Electrical Power Systems and Digital Systems in Communications and Robotics. The post holders need to have wide expertise and be flexible also to deliver taught courses within Engineering interdisciplinary curriculum at level 1 and 2 outside EEE area.





The School of Engineering at the University of Aberdeen is a research-intensive interdisciplinary academic unit engaged in fundamental and applied research and offering Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PGT) degree programmes across five Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, and Petroleum. The School's research spans the main engineering disciplines across five Research Groups and a number of Research Centres (https://www.abdn.ac.uk/engineering/research/index.php).



We are particularly seeking individuals with a PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, Control or related disciplines with an excellent research track record in one or more of the following areas:


Smart grids and modern power systems; HVDC, MVDC grids and DC microgrids Electrification of energy-intensive industries Electrical systems for renewable energy production, integration and storage Low-power electronics, communications and internet engineering Optical engineering Robotics and mechatronics Control Engineering.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 7, 46,735 - 55,755 per annum and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
