Sandwell College is seeking a part-time Lecturer in English (21 hours per week) to join the team on a fixed term contract until the end of the academic year. You will be working to ensure students have a rewarding and challenging experience, supporting them to develop to their full potential and achieve the best possible results.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement in the quality of teaching and learning, helping to secure successful outcomes for students and a positive overall experience within the College.
The full-time salary for this role is 26,661 to 48,160, with a pro rata salary of 21,328.80 to 38,528 for a 21 hour contract.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality English programmes as directed by the Head of Curriculum, ensuring learners are challenged, supported, and able to achieve their full potential
Contribute to curriculum development, planning, and continuous improvement of teaching and learning
Take responsibility for courses, including personal tutoring and supporting learners throughout their journey
Use ILT effectively to support teaching, develop learning materials, and enhance the learning experience
Identify, create, and adapt resources suitable for diverse learner needs
Engage fully in professional development, in-service training, and continuous improvement activities
Uphold the College's aims, values, and commitment to safeguarding and equality
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We're looking for someone who is:
Degree and/or professional qualification relevant to English
Certificate in Education or Level 5 teaching qualification
Experience delivering excellent teaching and learning in English
Experience preparing, evaluating, and adapting learning materials
Experience delivering relevant English qualifications, including key/functional skills desirable
Experience of internal verification or moderation advantageous
