We are seeking a motivated and committed Lecturer in Maths to join our ESOL 19+ department on a permanent, part time basis at 0.6 FTE. This is an excellent opportunity to support adult learners within an inclusive learning environment, helping them to develop essential Maths skills that support progression into further study, employment and everyday life.
The full time equivalent salary for this role is 26,661 to 48,160 per annum. Based on a 0.6 FTE contract, the pro rata salary range will be approximately 15,997 to 28,896 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:Deliver high quality Maths teaching to adult learners, primarily at Entry Level and Level 1, with delivery embedded within ESOL programmes where appropriate
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners
Support learners to achieve Skills for Life and employability related qualifications
Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
Maintain accurate and up to date learner records in line with organisational requirements
Contribute to curriculum development and the continuous improvement of the ESOL 19+ provision
Work collaboratively with colleagues to share good practice and support effective delivery
Ensure teaching, learning and assessment meet internal and external quality assurance requirements
Uphold organisational policies and promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following:A Maths subject specialism or a willingness to work towards one
A Certificate in Education or a Level 5 teaching qualification
A recognised vocational qualification relevant to the subject area
Experience of teaching Maths to adult learners, including Entry Level
An understanding of ESOL contexts and the ability to embed Maths within ESOL provision
Experience of delivering Skills for Life or Functional Skills qualifications
Basic competence in teaching Entry Level Functional Skills ICT
Knowledge of internal and external quality assurance processes
The ability to work effectively with colleagues, partners and external agencies
