Permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year



Working Pattern:

Monday and Tuesday: 08:30am -17:00pm


Wednesday and Thursday: 12:30am -21:00pm;


Friday: 08:30am - 16:00pm



We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to contribute to the Department's commitment to delivering high-quality learning. The successful candidate will play an active role in the development, organisation, and delivery of the Plumbing curriculum, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience for all students. The role may also include acting as a Learning Co-ordinator, with appropriate remission provided for these additional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities





To deliver high standards of teaching and learning and to monitor assessment processes in accordance with examination requirements. Producing schemes of work, lesson plans, assessment plans, learning materials and any other related activities that impact on the effectiveness of learning. To co-ordinate and maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students' learning carried out by the course team. To communicate external examination entry and timetable arrangements to the course team and students. To work pro-actively to forward the success and vision of the department. To be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment. To observe and keep aware of health and Safety documentation and procedures in line with College Policy. To undertake classroom or workshop risk assessments if required. To liaise and agree a programme of learning with the Head of Department. Organise an induction programme for learners.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise





A minimum of Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing Assessor Award (A1 or equivalent) A teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards one within a stipulated time period) Demonstrate an understanding of the Plumbing industry and the range of qualification offered to the industry Awareness of a range of up to date learning strategies and assessment methodologies for plumbing learning and teaching. Demonstrate E-literacy and competence in Microsoft Office for administrative tasks and to produce student-centred learning materials which appeal to different learner styles and promote autonomy
