The role



The post of Lecturer in Strategy and Marketing will be to support the delivery of teaching and learning in these subject areas within the Business School. The successful candidate will join a vibrant academic community committed to high-quality education and student experience.

The post-holder will be responsible for a range of teaching, leadership, and student support activities. This post will include:

Teaching and Module Delivery: Contributing to the design, development, and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Strategy and Marketing. Module Leadership: Taking responsibility for the organisation and delivery of specific modules, including preparation of teaching materials, lectures, seminars, and workshops. Assessment and Feedback: Designing, marking, and providing timely and constructive feedback on coursework and examinations in line with university standards. Supervision: Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate projects and dissertations in the areas of Strategy and Marketing. Pastoral Support: Providing academic and pastoral care to students, supporting their learning and development, and signposting to appropriate services where necessary. Curriculum Development: Contributing to the enhancement of existing teaching materials and approaches, and embedding innovation and inclusivity into learning and teaching practices.


The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of Strategy and Marketing as academic disciplines and will be committed to delivering an excellent student experience. They will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues across the department and contribute to the broader academic community within the Business School. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in module leadership and curriculum development in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About you



For a Lecturer post you will:

Possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist and core knowledge in the discipline, demonstrated by a PhD or equivalent in Strategy or Marketing to develop teaching programmes, and teach and support learning; Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students; Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities; Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching; Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
