Job Description

We invite applications from outstanding individuals for the post of Lecturer in Cellular Immunology. You will be expected to develop an independent research portfolio focused on cellular host immunity to infectious diseases of humans, with a strong translational focus and expertise of in vivo models of clinical relevance and/or other appropriate skills at the core of this work. The Department is focused on mechanistic understanding of infectious diseases in humans at an individual and population level, with the aim of designing better diagnostics, vaccines, drugs and other infection control interventions. You will be expected to add research and teaching capacity by developing a portfolio related to cellular immunity in the context of infectious disease in humans and will have the opportunity of linking in with the available core technologies and clinical studies within the UK and internationally. As an academic member of staff, you will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Given the importance of teaching, you will be expected to obtain a teaching qualification through the University, if you do not have one already. You will be required to apply for competitive research grants and publish high quality high impact peer-reviewed research.



You should hold a PhD in a relevant subject.



This is a permanent post. The flexible preferred start date is 1 April 2026.
