The starting salary will be from 43,482 per annum pro rata on Grade F, depending on qualifications and experience. The post may attract a market supplement, in line with Agenda for Change 8a depending on skills and experience.
This new 0.3 FTE post is immediately available until 31 July 2027 on a fixed term basis.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working - some time on campus and some from home.
The role
You will act as Research Tutor in the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology's Psychoanalytic and Psychotherapeutic Clinical Practice (DPPClinPrac) and have responsibility for the provision of research teaching and the supervision of trainees in their major research projects, as well as supporting students with aspects of the wider research programme. You will work with the Research Leads and team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the research programme in accord with the Faculty's education strategy and within the education objectives specific to the Programme. You will be expected to mark academic material, and act as an internal examiner, as directed by the Research Director / Programme Lead.
About you
For a Lecturer post you will:
Possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a Clinical Doctorate or Ph.D. (complete or nearing completion) in an academic area relevant psychoanalytic, psychodynamic or clinical research, or have equivalent experience of clinical / NHS research as a researcher at a level to teach and support learning, with a professional qualification as an Allied Health Professional.
Evidence of sustained or committment to continuing professional development and practice
Possess an in-depth understanding of own specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
Have expertise in quantitative research methods and in advanced statistical methods
To use specialist or highly specialised skills in the design, analysis and evaluation of research.
Use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students;
Participate in and develop external networks, for example, to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities;
Will have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review and have made an impact at discipline programme level beyond their own teaching;
Be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and to attend formal CPD relating to this.
