The Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) is a large specialist research and teaching department of approximately 110 academic staff. The department is a major world leader in the following subject areas: Early Years and Primary Education, Educational Leadership, Education Policy, and Initial Teacher Education (ITE). The UCL Centre for Educational Leadership (CEL) is the UK's largest university-based centre for research, teaching, development and innovation in educational leadership. We provide research-informed programmes, advice and guidance for educational leaders, managers and policy makers, focused on the impact of their strategies and actions in London, the UK, and internationally.
About the role
------------------
We are seeking to appoint a qualified and motivated individual with recognized scholarship and/or education profiles in the broad field of educational leadership. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching and research activities in CEL and DLL, and to the wider IOE and UCL, and play a pivotal role in shaping the education and professional development of our postgraduate students.
This post is available until 31st August 2026 in the first instance.
Interviews will be held on 10th October 2025.
About you
-------------
You will have a doctorate in educational leadership, or other relevant field (e.g. school improvement, school effectiveness, educational management, teachers' work and lives) along with the ability to teach successfully at higher education level.
Ideally, you should have sufficient experience to apply for membership of the Higher Education Academy, i.e. experience of teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.
Your application form should address all the person specification points and should clearly demonstrate how your skills and experience meet each of the criteria.
It is important that the criteria are clearly numbered and that you provide a response to each one.
