Job Description

As a Sports Lecturer/ Course Team Leader you will demonstrate the ability to deliver outstanding teaching and learning as well as a destination focused experience that will enable our further education and higher education sports students to succeed in the ever-changing world of work. In addition, you will be required to ensure the academic and holistic support of the students on further education and higher education courses, enriching their experience using data to support you. If you are successful in gaining a CTL position, you will also be required to maintain, develop and manage a higher educational sports course.


The successful candidate will have direct experience in mentoring students as potential coaching and sports leaders and require a relevant degree within the vocation they will be teaching in. You will deliver student success through effective curriculum and lesson planning which meets individual learner needs as well as the expectations of employers and manage each student in their journey through their qualification.


Our FE and HE courses offer learners a wide range of opportunities to explore and understand the various employment prospects within sports, including PE teaching, Apprenticeships, coaching and volunteering and demonstrate an understanding of the demands and expectations that come with such careers.


We work closely with employers to help them engage with and invest in talent development in ways that will support the local and national economy. The Active Industries team have worked hard to develop outstanding relationships with local employers, enhancing the teaching and learning experience.
