Fixed Term Contract for 2 years from start date
Part Time - 14 Hours per Week (0.4 FTE)

We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and collegiate person with a strong background in Clinical Psychology to contribute to core teaching, skills training and dissertation supervision by joining our department of Psychology.

The Opportunity:

The successful candidate will contribute distinguished teaching and leadership in the field of Clinical Psychology, working closely with colleagues across Psychology and the School to contribute to the continuing development of the department as a centre of international excellence.

The postholder will need to demonstrate experience of training others in psychological principles or psychological therapies, supervising or providing teaching to students.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • BPS recognised degree in Psychology (International applicants will need to demonstrate that they have this at the time of application, for example via British Psychological Society Membership)
  • A UK recognised doctoral level professional qualification in Clinical, Psychology (e.g., professional practice doctorate) and registration with HCPC as practitioner clinical psychologist.
  • Evidence of experience in teaching and/or training, indicative of commitment to and potential for excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
  • Experience of supporting students, sensitivity to student needs and/or experience of supervising student research projects would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and support others

There is scope to appoint at the level of senior lecturer should experience be such that listed criteria can be met. At both grade levels this role is designed to be a teaching focused position.

Please note we are hoping for an early 2024 start date; however we are open to discussion to this and can be flexible for the correct candidate.

Interviews will typically include a presentation to faculty/teaching activity to students, departmental 121 meetings as well as a panel interview based on a Q&A style format.

Candidates will be given at least 3 weeks\' notice of the interview date and arrangements. We anticipate interviews will be held mid - late November 2023.
