Open Ended 35 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual to fill a position of a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Small Animal Oncology at the Hospital for Small Animals.

This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

The Opportunity:

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, world renowned oncology service, providing medical oncology expertise in the School\'s Hospital for Small Animals, as well as the delivery and assessment of our BVM&S undergraduate degree programme and postgraduate training and education programmes. You will be working alongside other Diplomates in Small Animal Oncology and Radiation Oncology, five medical oncology (and one radiation oncology) residents, one oncology clinician teacher (intern), four specialised oncology nurses, and two therapeutic radiographers. Moreover, you will be working alongside specialists across numerous other disciplines such as Surgery, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Anaesthesia, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, and others, to provide the best possible care for each and every patient.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Post-graduate experience and further qualification in Small Animal Oncology, at ECVIM or ACVIM Diploma-holder level (board certified, or board eligible)
  • A degree registrable with the RCVS
  • Experience in teaching, learning and assessment in a veterinary school
  • An ability to work alone but also to supervise and instruct colleagues and students
  • Demonstrable research output (clinical and/or basic science/translational)
