We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Administrator/ Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist fee earners in preparing matters, conducting research, and managing documentation. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. The successful applicant will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and possess a solid understanding of legal procedures.
Responsibilities
Manage
client onboarding
, including AML checks and file setup.
Draft and issue
client care letters
, terms of business, and engagement documents including assisting fee earners in preparing legal documents.
Act as a
first point of contact for clients
, providing regular progress updates and handling routine queries.
Support with drafting wills, LPA applications, probate forms, and estate administration paperwork.
Liaise with third parties such as banks, HMRC, estate agents, and local authorities.
Organise and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date
Manage schedules and appointments using Microsoft Outlook
Prepare reports and correspondence using Microsoft Word and Excel
Ensure compliance with legal procedures and regulations
Experience
Previous
paralegal or legal assistant experience
(estate planning, probate, family law, or private client background desirable).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage clients sensitively and professionally.
Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple client matters simultaneously.
Confident using case management systems (experience with Smokeball, Clio, or Leap an advantage).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively .
Strong IT skills with the capability to adapt to new software quickly
Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail
